TV Guide Exclusive: 24 Alum to Guest-Star on Castle

24 alum Glenn Morshower has been tapped to guest-star in the second episode of Castle's new season, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Morshower will play Michael Reed, a former general who will stop at nothing to protect the secrets of his past. With Reed's military connection, could he be involved in Washington, where Beckett (Stana Katic) was offered a job in the Season 5 finale?

  1. I've heard on the grape vine that the 2nd episode has a leading character returning to new york.

Could it be that the case is in New York and Kate returns with the rest of the FBI task force to help the 12th solve the case?

This would also cover the fact that Richard is going to somehow clash with one of Kate's team, as he does in the first episode. Before he returns to New York, in episode 1.

  2. Oh God don't say that...Haha...I want her to be back in NY and with the 12th solving cases with them. But it's odd NF just tweeted that today is his 1st day filming with the boys for a full day so got me wondering what has he been filming these past few weeks then??

And the TVGuide article indicating a FAMILIAR FACE returning to LEAD the investigation in 6x03...Hmm are we sure that is Kate Beckett? and wonder if she's staying for good not just leading with her new team and then leaving for DC after...

What do u mean Rick is gonna clash with 1 of Kate's team in the 1st ep? Where is that I thot them and Yancey are the ones gonna clash heads or something....

I wonder why Frank or now Grant SULLY sullivan is needed...a guy's guy?

  3. Don't you mean 2nd episode?

This is the article I was talking about:

ABC’s Castle continues to fortify its ranks for a rousing Season 6 launch.

TVLine has learned exclusively that TV vet Yancey Arias has been cast as Carl Villante, the head of an elite investigative unit who clashes with both Beckett and Castle during the working of a high-stakes case.

Arias will appear in the first two episodes of Season 6, which premieres Monday, Sept. 23 at 10/9c.
Earlier this month, House alum Lisa Edelstein booked a multi-episode arc as Rachel McCord, a tough and highly skilled Federal Investigator who plays a vital role in Beckett’s decisions about her future.

Therefore I think that she is going to tell Kate that she should follow her heart, as so many people including Rouke has advised her to do.

This would mean that in episode 4 Kate would be firmly based back in New York with the 12th. This also helps since Rachel McCord is 3 episodes compared to the 2 that Yancey's is going to appear in.

I think this new detective is going to be more like detective Roselyn Karpowski whom only appeared in season 2, but with a few more episodes, no real threat to Kate and Richard. Also I think as a rookie detective, he is going to be more of a temporary replacement for Kate whilst she is away. It would also give Richard a additional character for his Nikki Heat books, whilst Ryan and Expo train him.

If I'm right which I might not be, it is going to be an interesting season. I can't wait.

    1. Also wasn't Frank 'Sully' Sullivan, the pilot whom ditched his aircraft in the Hudson after take off. Maybe that's why they changed the name to Grant ;-))

    2. However, they never announced the Karpowski character from what I understand. She just "showed up." I think she only appeared in two, three episodes tops.

Plus all the information on Edelstein points to more than 3 episodes. And I follow Yancey Arias on Twitter and he said that he could come back for future episodes.

I can't see them creating a character for the sole purpose of being Beckett's replacement if she'll be back in episode four.

  4. Depending on how many episodes Lisa Edelstein is scheduled for, I don't see Beckett returning to NY permanently until then and to have more than one joint case would be pushing the 'contrived' button too hard.

Looking forward to what S6 has in store though.

  5. As far I as I know, Lisa Edelstein has only been scheduled for the first 3 episodes, with Yancy appearing in the first 2. So it could be that she helps Kate decide what she wants to do in the first 3, then returns later on in the season.

As with the Grant 'SULLY' sullivan character, he has been scheduled for multiple episodes, unlike the Karpowski character, which yes, she just showed up and was only mentioned in Secret Santa. So I don't think he is going to be a pernament replacment for Kate.

    1. Then why did you even float the idea? I don't get fans sometimes. I really don't.

    2. I'm basing the idea, on the fact that they are going to need a replacement for Kate.

But this time instead of disappearing when Kate gets back, Sullivan as a rookie is going to be trained by the team, alongwith Richard, which is going to annoy Gates because she doesn't like him much. It is just a gut feeling that I have.

But this all speculation on my part and I'm always ready to admit when I am wrong.

After all none of us know what going to be in the season. I can't wait for September.

    3. Gates has grown to appreciate Castle, so I don't know where you're getting that she doesn't "like him all that much." Did you not see "Target" and "Hunt"? She seemed generally concerned. Apparently we aren't watching the same show.

  6. Yes she appreciates him and is concerned, but she still doesn't like his methods and the fact he is not a cop.

    1. So, you're basically using that as your justification... grasp for straws much? Apparently.

    2. TR... why don't you slither away. James isn't doing anything wrong and he doesn't need you to be a jerk about his theories. Why don't you go join the ABC board. They love being pessimistic for the most part. You'll fit right in there.

James keep up the great job with posting your theories. None of us know where the new season is headed, so no harm in speculating and throwing theories out there for fun.

  7. Well it's pretty much true, by the fact he is not a cop and and she has said in the past, that she didn't like writers playing playing as cpps in her precinct.

    3. Don't forget, he's working at the precinct in the third episode of season 6, so clearly there's some sort of respect otherwise she wouldn't allow him back. But what the heck do I know? I don't pull theories out of my butt and try to make myself sound super-duper smart while actually being an ignoramus fool.

  9. Yes, but Kate could be back by then working alongside the team with Rachel investigating the murder. Whom is going to help Kate make her choice of where she actually belongs.

And if you are going to be rude about other peoples ideas, then I'm out of here.
