ABC has cracked “The Case of the Missing Castle Episode” and extended the crime drama’s fifth season by one, to a total of 24 episodes.
The increased tally matches that of Seasons 2 and 3. (Season 4 scored 23 eps, while the show’s freshman run, as a midseason replacement, fired off just 10 rounds.)

ReplyDeleteWhy is this a cause to stop complaining? Castle got a 1.8 rating yesterday and it's renewed. All that shows is that ABC shows are all soft, but Castle isn't the softest of their shows.

ReplyDeletehope this is an indicator that Castle will be renewed for season 5 ! *crossing my fingers* I know the ratings have been a bit lower some episodes this season compared to others but the ratings are still good and Castle has a pretty strong fanbase . I don't know what I would do if there wasn't another season for Castle...I'm hoping for at least 2 more seasons. I honestly don't know how I will ever handle not having Castle Mondays.. it seriously makes me sad just to think about that :(

Until then I will just enjoy this extended season !

DeleteBut while I hope you're right, it could also be that they ordered a series finale. We don't know, and won't, until they make a formal announcement.
With that said, I'd be very surprised if they were cancelled. The ratings have slipped a bit (probably due to DWTS) but remains strong overall, and is one of ABC's stronger shows right now. Odds are very good that they'll be picked up for a Season 6.
Plus it was just announced book 5 of the Nikki Heat series is coming out September 17th, so things are looking good for a S6.
DeleteBtw, ratings are down across the board. Not just with Castle which is why Nielsen is teaming with Twitter in 2013 to assit with rating shows. Castle is always trending on twitter. So hopefully things will look better next season for the.show.

ReplyDeleteDidn`t they already extend the season to 23 episodes? And then they extended it again to 24 episodes? I think that they would do that because the show is still really, really liked and they have faith that people will still really, really like it in April. I am hoping that this is a good sign for a possible season 6.

You guys need to get over yourselves. The show is still good and some of still see the love and affection and chemistry between Caskett. I don't see any show on tv where the couples are tiuchinghuggingkissingsexing in every.episode. You shippers are NEVER satisfied and in this fandom make the forums full of negative energy that some fans don't even bother posting about the show. It's sad you guys can't see that or care about the show at all. The big picture is being overlooked by whiners and complainers because.Caskett aren't toucbinghuggingkissingsexing throughout the episode.
What a shame.
Every season there's an abundance of complaints about this show and I just don't get how the so-called fans rarely discuss what's good about it.
I want to discuss Castle so bad but when I try, here come the whiners and complainers.
