The ABC hit is finally introducing Rick’s MIA dad this February, and TVLine has learned that he will be played by James Brolin!
The Emmy-winning acting vet will appear in Castle‘s big February sweeps two-parter (set to air on Feb. 18 and Feb. 25), which finds Rick and Kate investigating a murder that subsequently exposes a plot to kidnap a wealthy Middle Eastern businessman’s daughter.

What everyone's been waiting for !! SO very exciting! He looks like a great pick and I can imagine some resemblance between him and Castle. Didn't he play Eric on the soap opera Bold and the Beautiful?

DeleteYEAHHHHHHHHHH! I am totally excited to see where this takes the show and its characters! I hope that this becomes something that Beckett can work through with Castle. Also, and this is just me but I'm dying to say this outloud, I kind of want his father to have known about Castle all along and that it causes tension between the two; with Castle saying something like "I needed you for the past 40 years. I don't need you now."

In the conclusion, Castle's involvement in the case will suddenly put his life in danger." Did you catch that last part? We're gonna get a cliff-hanger with Castle's life in danger! Just like I always wanted! Of course I don't want him to die, but if he got hurt or something. I love! love! seeing a concerned Beckett who is scared for Castle's life!

Oh my gosh yes!!! This is what I have been thinking all along. We have had Castle in dire situations of sorts, but never truly and really HURT with his life actually in the ACT of being threatened. I think it would be great to see Beckett's concern and see her worried and scared for him and get to take care of him if he got hurt or something!

DeleteYes, he was in "danger" in those, but nothing actually happened to him. I'm talking about him actually physically getting hurt, and beyond just superficial stuff, so that we can really and truly see Kate's worry and concern for a truly in danger and hurt Castle. Again, we've seen the flip with Castle's concern for Kate, but never seen Kate's reaction to an actually physically hurt and life-threatened Castle.

ReplyDeleteSo excited!!! How do you think this will play out? Will Castle actually meet his dad or is it something only us, the audience, will see? Maybe only Martha will see him or Beckett will meet him if he helps out while Castle is in trouble, but disappears when it's over. Or he's there the whole time but no one realizes it's his dad until he's gone...or no one ever knows it's his dad except us. What if everyone meets him EXCEPT Castle, for whatever reason, and in the end Castle asks " tell me, does he still have a full head of hair?". I just love the anticipation of these episodes, so looking forward to February!
