  2. Most definitely, they're even keeping with the running theme of the episode titles;
    sucker punch, knockdown, knockout, rise...
    and now Recoil.

    1. also, have you noticed: 2x13= sucker punch; 3x13 knocdown, now 5x13 "recoil"...
Besides of her mom's case, what did they have in common??? .. not only sweet and deep moments between castle and beckett but also, big steps in their relationship. In 2x13 (Kate start to trust castle and saw that he was serious about helping her, and being her friend, after that episode, she started to see him as her best friend and trusting him her life, also she start getting soft and stop being rude with him)
At 3x13 They kiss (and we all know that kiss mean more than a cover kiss)and was their first kiss(was perfect and beautiful IMO)! But, the point is, in this episode they kiss each other, afetr 4 years, and they both realised after the kiss that was amazing. So, thouhg they hadn't kiss anymore until 4x23 its pretty obvious they get hitched and theire relationship as co-workers start to be more romantic, and sweet.
So i'm feeling this episode will be and awesome step for them, and one more time, will drive us crazys!!!!!

    2. what was 4x13?

    3. 4x13 was "An Embarrassment of Bitches", so nothing too significant, but 4x12 was "Dial M For Mayor", and 4x14 was "The Blue Butterfly".

    4. Anon 11:47 every 13th episode we always get something special and even though I don't see them engaged this season, you never know, still I agree this one will be no different.

      On this show we're guaranteed a finale caliber episode four times over every season, aside from the great episodes delivered almost every week;
      ominous episode 13
      double parter
      actual finale

Not to mention the 100th episode nugget we get this season.

    5. @Nikola, yes youre right. im feeling this episode will be very very good! I dont even want to spoil myself this time, because im sure it will be worth to wait.
100th episode, i hope they make something BIG, and make it be notorious, i mean, it could be an episode with a very steamy/romantic scene, or maybe get kate to say ILY to castle, who knows...
I just want to share my thougts about the VALENTINES DAY EPSIODE, I read that the present that castle got for kate, wich is beautiful btw, will end up in the wrong hands. After read this i thought that maybe that "wrong hand" is nothing more but Gates hands, and thats when she will figure it out about those two. (actually i think that castle will panic, trying to find the present and Gates will take him (for some mistake and an unknown situation)and then will understand what is going on. Then she will have a private conversation with castle, and she'll confess she knows about them, but will close her eyes to the situation and pretend she doesnt know. And will be just a secret between castle and gates, not even kate will know, for now. Its also a step in the relationship between castle and gates. But i guess is just the fan and me, so...

    6. NICE @anon1:34 I don't know about the rest of it, but I like the idea that the wrong hands belong to Gates.
That complicates things a little bit.

  3. Ahh they finally released the title for the 13th episode! From what I've heard this one sees the return of Senator William Bracken, and that Kate finds evidence that she believes ties him to a murder and also believes she has an opportunity to bring him to justice. I get the feeling that the Senator will probably escape justice by the end of this episode and show up again in the Season Finale. Dr. Burke is also making an appearance. He has usually only appeared after Kate has had moments with Rick (both good and bad), but apparently Kate goes to her shrink about Senator Bracken this time. Going by what I said about the Senator, I think Kate will visit Dr. Burke after the Senator has escaped. If this turns out to be accurate then I would love to see her open up about wanting to bring the Senator to justice so she can move on with her life WITH RICK!

Speaking of Rick, it will be interesting to see how he handles this. How willing will he be to help Kate when she sees an opportunity to strike against the Senator? Kate has nearly died twice at the hands of Cole Maddox trying to bring the fight to these guys, so will Rick let her run into the line of fire again? Stana said herself something along the lines of that her character finally giving into her feelings for Rick has emboldened her and made her a very dangerous adversary to these bad guys. She also mentioned that Kate would now be thinking a lot clearer now. We saw that in the Season Premier. She realized she couldn't kill the Senator at that time and so she blackmailed him (and pistol-whipped him while she was at it). At the time Rick panicked because he thought she was in concrete thinking mode and would kill the Senator in some revenge driven craze. The look on his face when he realized that she hadn't gone to kill the Senator was compelling. I have a feeling that he will be her anchor in this episode and he will help her (reluctantly probably) despite the fact that chasing this guy has nearly cost her her life twice. Looking forward to this episode!

  7. Recoil: Suddenly spring or flinch back in fear, horror, or disgust

There are only a few things I see our couple being able to recoil from:
    A. Each other- If Kate realizes that as long as Bracken's around, she's a danger to Castle, she might leave him (temporarily) after he gets in danger/hurt.
    B. The case- If Kate realizes that the case is only going to kill her or Castle, she might just give it up all together.

Problem is, you pair those choices with the subtle foreshadowing that Castle will get hurt and the fact that Kate kind of has to stay a part of the case to keep herself alive, it's looking like option A.

    1. option C: Bracken recoiling from Beckett.

My guess is Beckett has an illegal way to take down Bracken but she decides she can't do it so she 'recoils' from the case (till the season finale).

    2. Exactly anon 6:33, then again it may not even be our couple that's doing the recoiling.

I suppose the question I want answered by the end of this episode is:
Who's the one doing the striking and who will be the one to recoil?

    3. I'm with you, 6:33. I'm been assuming Bracken will be a viable suspect in a murder investigation, to the point where there could be enough evidence to put him away, until Beckett finds something that could clear him. That could cause a therapy-worthy conundrum for her.

A year ago, suspicion was enough to halt the mayor's political ambitions. Would it be too much to hope that karma could come back for Bracken in just such a way?

    4. anon 6:33 back. Another option is that I've heard this episode might have been called "redemption" (or was that people making stuff up?). If so, we know from Bracken's character that he wants to make himself "that guy" (the nice one that does great things with his power). Maybe something happens that makes Beckett reconsider his character in some way?

    1. Sorry, don't agree with you there. I doubt that this case will be resolved in this 13th episode, more likely to be the Season Five Finale or Season Six Premier where Senator Bracken gets brought to justice.

The Johanna Beckett murder conspiracy has helped provide the biggest forward movements in the Caskett relationship and now that the two characters are finally together, as I said above I think they'll wind down this conspiracy sooner rather than later (but not this 13th episode). The Johanna Beckett murder conspiracy has been at the core of this show but they can't keep dragging it on forever and eventually something else will have to take its place. I'm picking that the mystery surrounding the true identity of Rick's father will move into the place the Johanna Beckett murder conspiracy currently holds.

I'm sure this 13th episode will be a very good one. It will be interesting to see how Rick and Kate handle this one, especially with the Valentine's Day episode next up afterwards!

    2. I dont agree you this the JB conspicry will nor be resolved in this ep more likely the end of season 5 the beginning of season 6 if at all we know the V day ep follows this ep so i cant wait to see how rick and Kate handle this.

    3. well, who knows if they will connect the dots from ep to ep tho. it could be a stand alone.

  10. I think the episode will play out like this...Bracken looks guilty, but Kate finds evidence that could clear him and she wants to ignore it. The moral dilemna causes her to seek out her therapist and she realizes when you shoot a gun it recoils and kicks you back and if she does the immoral thing it will come back to kick her and that would hurt Castle and she can't get Bracken w/o hurting him or her team. So she recoils back and lies in wait once more for her chance to get Bracken. I also think Dr. Burke will make her realize she should let Castle know how she feels and stop being afraid to express her feelings bc that is her last wall.

    1. wow - well, if that's not how it plays out - that is a great story!:)

  11. That's possible, but I think it'd be the other way around. (As the titles of these usually refer to Beckett's character - she gets sucker punched, knocked down, knocked out, rises - it makes me think she will be the one doing the recoiling or getting redemption, whether in the senator's eyes or her own). On a side note, I don't see Beckett ever reconsidering Bracken's character; he already tried & failed with his 'campaign speech'.
I see it (Beckett's redemption) one of two ways:
From Bracken's point of view, she is threat to his work for the greater good, regardless of collateral damage. She's just a revenge-driven cop. If she ends up saving him somehow, despite their past, it could redeem her in his eyes.
Alternately, Beckett sees herself as driven by her past/thirst for justice for her mom. Assuming she's given the chance to put Bracken away but not for a crime he's committed, if she can not let that define her actions but instead can make sure justice is done even for Bracken, that's a kind of redemption for herself. I'm guessing that's what Burke would think, anyway.
I'm sort of glad it's now called Recoil, actually...
