She has the chance to kill him, but she also needs to protect him? Wow. Talk about caught between a rock and a hard place. I wonder what Castle's reaction to all this will be. Also, will Gates learn what is going on in this episode? I mean with Beckett's mother's murder, Roy, and all of the other casualities?
Right at the beginning of the promo, it looks like she is in Gates's office and is spilling her guts about the whole thing.... What if this is when Bracken is proven guilty: either he is out of office, or she is done at the precinct, at least that's how I think it will play out.
In "After The Storm" in the scene between Kate and Captain Gates, the Captain tells Kate that she knows that the detective is covering for Roy Montgomery, but doesn't intend to tarnish his memory, and that she admires Kate's loyalty and hopes Kate will show her the same loyalty one day. It has been debatable just how much Captain Gates knows about this conspiracy but it looks like she will know more than enough by the end of this episode. Poor Kate looks like she's going to be caught in the worst Catch-22 situation ever. It's going to be interesting to see what happens. I'm sure that the Senator will escape to fight another day, likely to show up again by the Season Finale.
There has been a growing feeling of discontent flooding this site in particular following on from the last two episodes, specifically the fact that their beloved Caskett haven't been munching each other's faces off in them. I think that this next episode and the following Valentine's Day one will quieten these people for a while! Nah I'm just kidding myself saying that!
It's a nice thought that it will quite everyone down. I have to say myself that I have enjoyed every episode. I just love the show. It's always intriguing to me and I'm always satisfied when its over. If course I never want it to be over.
I know I don't speak for everyone but I think this is a wonderful show. I love the relationships both intimate and friendship. I like how it makes me think. The actors are wonderful as well too. I just love everything about these episodes.
I don't want to wait two weeks. I will have to find something to do.
Again I'm proud of this show and I'm happy I found it. I'm a castle fan and I can't wait.
Anon 8.25 PM again. It's nice to know every now and then that there are other fans either content or happy with this show in the face of some at times really ugly criticism. The writers of this show have been doing a fantastic job with these characters, but there will always be people out there with an Axe to grind over even the most pointlessly pedantic issues at times, who are never happy no matter what the writers give them.
I think it's farcical when an episode gets written off as bad because of "not enough Caskett". I love those two characters too but they are not the only reason why I enjoy this show. The Caskett relationship is the biggest draw card but there is so much stuff beyond that relationship that add extra layers to this show. Sometimes I think people are so focused on the relationship that they overlook everything else the show has to offer.
I love you guys! I, too, have been enjoying every episode of this most awesome show. The only thing I've been missing is hearing from fans like you ;).
Anons 8.25 and 8.50 again. Thank you very much for that reply Anon 11.51 PM. I yearn for the days when people can have positive and clear-headed discussions about this show without the silly temper tantrums and toy chucking because people aren't getting what they want that is currently the norm. I'm sure there are many people out there willing to discuss this show in a positive manner but they perhaps have given up on these sites considering how much negativity is prevalent.
Just to expand on my point in my previous post, I think that some people just want everything handed to them on a plate by the writers and they can't be bothered taking a look at the bigger picture. Often there are underlying messages, subtle hints of what's to come (foreshadowing) and throwbacks to earlier episodes hidden in among everything else. Season Four was a classic example. It was clearly obvious to me once it was revealed that the season would have a "secrets" theme, that things would be resolved by season's end. The Cast and Crew at Paley Fest 2012 pre-warned us that Castle and Beckett would go through a "thing" (bad patch), before things got really, really good. Despite this warning the reaction to "47 Seconds", "The Limey" and "Headhunters" went way overboard with the negativity. For me it was obvious that they were preparing to break the shackles between the two characters and so therefore I did not follow suit with most of the people commenting on here at the time and waited patiently for the Season Finale, which we all know turned into the greatest moment so far in this show's history.
Hmm, in reply to the original comment, is she in Gate's office, or is she in with Dr Burke? We know he's back in this episode, it would seem a logical conclusion that he would be the one she confides this in. Would Gates really send Beckett out there to "protect" someone who she knows thinks is responsible for her mother's murder?
The writers of Castle did an excellent job of writing 5x01 (After the Storm). It is by far my favourite episode where they focus on her mother's murder, and I am not only saying that because of the Casketty goodness that we received in it. They wrote it so well and they plot was so intriguing. Hopefully, this episode is just as good. I would love to see what happens inbetween Kate and Rick and Senator Bracken. I really hate that guy. Of course the actor is great and he plays a very convincing bad guy, but the character I hate.
Needless to say, I am excited for this episode. Too bad we have to wait 2 weeks to see it.
You see that clip of Beckett running through the streets? I kinda hope that Bracken's men have taken Castle, or that they just found evidence that his men are going after Castle, and that Beckett is booking it through New York at night to save Castle. I think that that would be A) freaking adorable, B) evidence taht Bracken is indeed evil and can be pressed with charges, C) another way to chalk up the life-saving tallies, & D) freaking adorable! But, then again. Maybe that's just my fan-girl point of view.
My question is - why is it all of a sudden her duty to protect Bracken? She's a homocide detective. Wasn't there an article awhile back that said he was possibly tied to another killing? I'm thinking she gets excited, thinking she can take him down, but it turns out he's being set up or targeted, so she'll have to protect him while she investigates, hence Bracken's comment when he's sitting at the precinct about the irony in the situation...
If it is Castle behind her - which I thought it was at first but now I'm thinking Castle's hair is a little longer in the front than the guy's hair behind her, so I'm not sure if it is him - I think Kate takes off running because Bracken escapes somehow so she runs to try and stop him.
Not necessarily. Either way, whether it's Castle behind her or not, I think she's either running to try and get to Castle, or running to try and stop Bracken from escaping.
Reading the latest spoilers around the 2 parter, I think it doubtful that Castle will be put in danger in this episode as well; it would be too soon. But I do think there's a lot of potential for some meaty ethical scenes between him and Kate, which will be interesting. We've not really seen them in conflict (case wise) in any major way since they got together yet.
Ugly criticism...LOL, that makes me chuckle. Once people latch onto something, sometimes their fanship defies reality. It's not ugly criticism -- when. it's. true. It's just truth.
For me, except for maybe ep 1, the show this season has been unmemorable. I watch Seasons 1-3 and some of Season 4 over and over again. I don't care about any of this season's eps. The ridiculous contrivities are laughable. At this point, I'm watching for the unintentional comedy.
For instance, this ep, I loved one of Beckett's first scenes when her sentences were stilted and jilted because she could barely walk up the curb in her 6 inch heels. And the hair? She looks like someone dropped a bucket of water on her head and just let it dry like that. Horrifying. And the lighting experts on the show didn't even try to hide Mr. Dough boy. The Saturday Night Live skits are just writing themselves. Unfortunately the show isn't popular enough to warrant SNL parodies.
And the 'relationship'. I don't think I've seen an episode of this show -- ever -- where the two leads were so cold to each other. It was as if they didn't even know each other and certainly didn't care. Awful. Just bad. Terrible writing. Maybe Stana has a clause in her contract now that says she only has to look at or kiss the dough boy every 3rd show? Who knows. What I do know is that Sheldon and Amy of Big Bang Theory have better chemistry, and they're both pathologically antisocial.
And who was the killer? I forget.
What have they done to my show? I can't even believe it. I'm now in Purple Rose of Cairo mode. I saw that movie for a dollar while in college. About a quarter of the way thru, I wanted to walk out, but my friend said there's gotta be a reason they made this movie. Something's gotta happen that makes it worth watching. So I stayed until the end. That's what I'm doing here. I'm waiting for a reason to bother. And that reason isn't forthcoming.
What are they thinking? What I do know is I'll never start watching an Andrew Marlowe series again. He gets his fans hooked and then he betrays them.
Lol has Andrew Marlowe betrayed us? What are you smoking dude?! Sadly there's nothing constructive about anything you've said and you are just being very cynical, so your opinion can therefore be dismissed as utter dribble. Have a good day!
Anon 2:23 - I have criticisms against the show, but I think it's rather a low blow to keep calling Nate 'Dough Boy.' I still really enjoy Nathan's character regardless of what he looks like, he's a bit heavier than he was on Firefly but that doesn't mean he looks bad. Firefly was 10 years ago, let's see what you look like in 10 years and whether or not you've fluffed up a bit. But it's sort of a low blow to go after someone's appearance like that. I think he looks fine, and most of the people I do know says the same.
I have my problems with the programme. I still enjoy it, but I don't think they really know how to write for it any more, so they're just throwing old recycled plots out there.
The Castle stories this year (Save a couple of them) have been quite bland and taken from Bones episodes - Bones episodes which were quite bad in the first place.
Attack the writing, attack the production, but going after their appearances is a bit of a shallow and low blow that isn't necessary. It's like saying you don't like watching the last year of Roseanne because Roseanne is fat. Well, yes - she is larger, but hey, there are far more important things that are bad with the last year of Roseanne than her weight.
Going after someone just because of the way they look is disrespectful. Calling someone over and over 'Dough Boy' is disrespectful. Just because you're on the internet doesn't mean there's a need to be so rude for no reason.
Your complaints about Stana's hair and Nate's weight say a lot more about what is wrong with you than it does with what is wrong with the programme.
Not the one to rant but I am now a bit bored with this storyline and a haunted,on-mission Beckett. I wish they would put an end to this plot and move ahead

With all due respect Carina, there's absolutely nothing wrong with criticism, so long as it's done constructively. People are perfectly entitled to say what they do and don't like about an episode. The world would be a very boring place if we all liked the same things! I don't think posting things that imply they are all above criticism / superhuman/perfect is any more helpful than the people who post hideous, horrible (and clearly posted just for the Troll factor) comments that have clearly wound you up. People who post that kind of provocative rubbish do so specifically to evoke the kind of counter reaction you've given here. I totally get why you feel the need to defend at all costs but... Andrew Marlowe is not above criticism, he's not perfect and they don't always get it right and there's no point just papering over the cracks. Ultimately it's about looking at the big picture; there have been some very extreme reactions the last two episodes in particular, from certain contingent of fans. Sorry, I've gone on a bit; I'll stop hurling cliches at you now and just say, keep the faith. All will be good and when it is you'll feel a lot happier about your love of the series than those who have made it their mission to hate it.
OMG!!!!!! Love so munch Kate voice!!! It looks calm and... i don't know just wow! And I've got a little question wh we don't have Canadian promo anymore? I cant wait until next next weeks! it' s too munch =D
I am Canadian and live in Canada (not far from where Stana Katic is originally from), and I am really happy there isn't a Canadian promo. They aren't very good anyway, and I end up disappointed in them. ABC is much better at putting together their promos. I'm actually interested in watching the show from what they usually put together. (I LOVE the show anyway and would always, but if i were new, the Canadian promo wouldn't motivate me).
CTV in Canada usually doesn't promo shows that are more than a week out. They will air something closer to the actual air date. Which is kind of brutal because it doesn't tell viewers the show isn't on for a week. But typical CTV...kind of random programming.
seriously...this episode is gonna be wicked!!!! i can not wait...i hope kate get his you know what!!! but i have to wait for 2 weeks...hate it, hate it!!!!
Looks amazing - totally can't wait. And in the highly sensible words of Nathan himself - to those of you who bitch, whine, complain and are generally horrible on a fan site of a show you claim to have 'loved' -
"It costs nothing to say something nice, and even less to SHUT UP ALL TOGETHER."
Really? Was that the same Nathan that agreed with a tweet that called a presidential candidate " a lying, slimy, tool" cause that doesn't sound very "nice" to me.
She has the chance to kill him, but she also needs to protect him? Wow. Talk about caught between a rock and a hard place. I wonder what Castle's reaction to all this will be. ReplyDeleteI think when Beckett says "he killed my mother" in the beginning it's in Gates' office. The blinds in there look like the background. Just a guess.
Deleteoh yeah. You might be right. I didn't see that the first time I watched it.
DeleteTwo weeks. I don't want to wait two weeks. This episode looks so good. Ughhh...why two weeks. That is just torture.

ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove so munch Kate voice!!!
DeleteCTV in Canada usually doesn't promo shows that are more than a week out. They will air something closer to the actual air date. Which is kind of brutal because it doesn't tell viewers the show isn't on for a week. But typical CTV...kind of random programming.
Deleteseriously...this episode is gonna be wicked!!!! i can not wait...i hope kate get his you know what!!! but i have to wait for 2 weeks...hate it, hate it!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing - totally can't wait. And in the highly sensible words of Nathan himself - to those of you who bitch, whine, complain and are generally horrible on a fan site of a show you claim to have 'loved' -

I wish there was a Like button on here. :)

DeleteReally? Was that the same Nathan that agreed with a tweet that called a presidential candidate " a lying, slimy, tool" cause that doesn't sound very "nice" to me.
