Wow She is sitting so close to him that must be so hard!!! I Cannot wait for this episode, I can't believe it's two weeks away! Ugh
ReplyDeleteAs they made Kate's scar on her chest disappear, I just looked to see if Bracken still had his nasty one, and it seems that he kept a little bit of it.... It's true even if I'm kidding!!...
ReplyDeleteBut I think this ep should be a great one, really, followed by Valentyne's day and the double ep which, for sure, will be a dark one.....with a light ending(?).....
I can't believe they show us the murder board.
ReplyDeleteStana's hair in that bun looks gorgeous. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I really want to see Beckett and Castle kick some Bracken butt and put him in jail for good, but I have a feeling that they will keep him out of jail for now for plot reasons. As long as he ends up either in jail or dead I will be happy.
Gates is finally back :) I've never thought I'd say it, but I was starting to miss her :)
ReplyDeleteI love Gates! I've read somewhere that some fans had some problems with her when she first came on? I think AWMarlowe is the one that said it actually. I don't get it, I've loved her since we first saw her in 4x01. It doesn't mean I didn't bawl my eyes out all through the third season finale and when Montgommery was killed, but I love Gates. I love her dynamic with both Beckett and Castle, and her love/hate thing with Castle is priceless. Some of the funniest scenes.
DeleteIt might be that she's so different from Montgomerry - he was a real mentor, almost like a father-figure, and altough he was boss, Kate and the guys could always have fun with him, trade a few jokes (letting them have beer at the precinct; letting Espo and Ryan go even though he knew Beckett was in L.A. against orders and the guys was helping her, against orders, pinching in on what would he do if he won the lottery and so on...) and as I see it, he was also a kind-of-closeted Caskett shipper :D Gates, on the other hand, is the neccessary evil. A boss to be afraid of. Both characters are awesome, brilliantly written, only so very much different - which is, IMHO, is a great thing :) Would I like to have a boss like Gates? No way :D But I still love her as a character :D
DeleteThis is great insight, I didn't think about it in terms of Montgomery being more their friend and Gates being so stern in contrast, as being the problem for some fans. I loved Montgomery, I liked the rapport he had with the team. but I also love the rapport that Gates has with them now, I really liked the almost, I want to say paternal, bond Montgomery had with Beckett, Castle and the gang but I also find Gates' dynamic with them a little more interesting. Just in terms of the team having to push against her more. And I like how they all make her crazy in one way or another, like the ending in "Swan Song". Between her showing Caskett the video of Castle goofing off behind her while Kate is trying to get his attention to stop, to Gates then hearing Espo singing, her reactions made me laugh. She's tough and you're right, I wouldn't want a boss like her. lol But I love her and I think she's funny even when she's not meaning to be. Castle breaking the dolls in her office and her (and Kate's!) reaction to it is one of my favorite scenes.
DeleteI totally agree with the comparisons between the two Captains. Montgomery was strict enough when he had to be (refusing to allow Kate to continue the investigation after an incident with Vulcan Simmons in "Knockout"), but he was also very flexible with his detectives and gave them room to push the boundaries and he was also very good friends with them. He also allowed Rick to continue at the precinct because he saw how good he was for Kate, and he told her this in "Knockdown". I always remember the funny face he pulled in the Season 3 premier when Kate had Rick in the interview room, an expression born from the "near miss" between Rick and Kate in the Season 2 Finale. Priceless!
DeleteCaptain Gates on the other hand is strict and unforgiving. Detective Ryan said in "Rise" that "it's not like it was before", hinting that Captain Gates would not give the detectives the same freedom that Montgomery did. She initially came across as uninterested in forming much of a rapport with her detectives, but underneath that strict and unforgiving exterior is a decent person who I think they'll reveal more of over time. It is debatable just how much Gates knows about this conspiracy surrounding Senator Bracken, but I think by the end of this next episode she'll know more than enough. I can't imagine she'll allow Kate to lead any investigation into the Senator, as she made it very clear in "Rise" that her precinct is no place for vendettas. I guess if Kate wants to bring down the Senator she'll try and go behind the Captain's back, which is what got her and Esposito in trouble last time when they went after Cole Maddox. Will be an interesting episode next up, that's for sure!
Good points and so glad we are all just having intelligent, respectful (to each other and the show) discussions! I too wasn't excited about Gates at first, but, we weren't supposed to be. But, I love the dichotomy and it was a great change up for the show. I love how they have softened up her too. The best thing is when you see Penny JJ in real life, she is a sweet, funny, loving woman - so it helps to know that is def. not her real character, just an amazing actress!
Deleteomg!!!! i can not wait for this episode. i love the storyline on this senator bracken sceniro...i hope it doesn't end soon..
ReplyDeleteGates!! Yay!
ReplyDeleteI see coffee! LOL Coffee = "I love you" to Caskett. :)
On a non-Caskett ship note, I can't WAIT for this episode, it looks intense and awesome. I've loved the eps dealing with Johanna Beckett's murder, they're dark but Stana really shows what an outstanding actress she is in these episodes, she shines and acting opposite her, Nathan shines also. They're both really given a chance to show their acting chops in these more dramatic eps. I may get frustrated with some things (Alexis, lately) but when all is said and done I still love this show SO much. Can't wait for february!!
She's sitting with the guy who had her mum killed! I can't imagine how it must feel. This episode should be really really intense. How many of you wouldn't punch him again? And she's supposed to protect him in this episode! Grrr.
ReplyDeleteSP
Yes it's an awful position for her to be in, being so close to finally ending her quest for justice for her mother, only to be forced to protect the man who ordered her mother's death (and also Kate's own near-death experience)! In the past before she gave into her feelings for Rick she most likely would have blindly run out into the line of fire, but I think now she might play a tactical game and wait for Senator Bracken to drop his guard before striking. I guess that the Senator will live to fight another day by the end of the episode. Rick became very concerned that she was going to avenge her mother in "After The Storm" when he woke up in her bed and she wasn't there, but she never actually intended to kill the Senator at that point and instead blackmailed him with a file she only had bits and pieces of. The look on Rick's face when he saw that she hadn't killed the Senator was very compelling, like he was extremely proud of her. I am very interested to see what part he has to play in this next episode. He will do anything to protect Kate, as he has done a lot of hard work to finally get her to open up to him. Even though Kate is thinking a lot clearer now he will still be the voice of reason that will guide her through this, like he always has been when she's needed him by her side the most. I am also interested to see what Kate has to say to Dr. Burke about all this. I'm sure that the conversation between the two of them will happen at the end of the episode, and could very well include a bit of foreshadowing. The good doctor is an effective outlet for someone like Kate to express her true feelings, and I think this upcoming conversation could very well point to where and how she wants to spend her future once the dastardly Senator has been brought to justice, with Rick obviously! These next four episodes are looking like they will be very exciting and I hope they help ease the constant negativity that infects this site.
DeleteThese pictures are amazing.Honestly been looking forward for this episode. Im a sucker for the highly charged emotinal eps, especially those involving the JB case. Stana and Nathan shine during their scenes. Such a joy to watch them.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I hate Bracken, I like how Marlowe is taking this arc. If he just died it will all be over. I cant wait to see what Kate has to say to him when they are sitting face to face. She must be complete turmoil but is reigning it in, and when it gets too much, Im guessing thats when she turns to Burke, which I cant wait to see either. But above all, I want to see how Rick supports her. He knows exactly when to push her and when to hold her back and Im curious to see which side he will be on here.
We know he wants justice for JB as much as she does, but they have much much more to loose now should anything bad happen to Kate, so I would like to see him reason with her on the topic of their future. Maybe tell her to think about them and their future before taking Bracken down becasue if she got caught, that future wont exist. I also think on some level Kate herself will just decide it isnt worth it because she wants a future with Rick too, and she isnt going to just throw that away, not now, not after everyhting theyve been through.
Also, both Stana and Nathan are looking fantastic. Love their outfits, kudos to Luke. Stanas hair up is spectacular, so old style and classic, and she definitely has the face, and jawline to carry that look off, she looks ridiculously stunning. She needs to act in some remake of a classic 60's movie. She has the perfect look for that.
Cheers from Malaysia!
OMG!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust take a look!!!!!
Maybe, we gonna spend a whole february month without complains, snipers & trolls!!!...
Just have a breath, guys and enjoy everything that's gonna happen.....Marlowe did it for you!!....
Stana is looking gorgeous with that hairstyle, my goodness, and Nathan too. Love love love her blazer...its like satin, and so well shaped for her figure.
ReplyDeleteI adore these types of episodes, as cheers from Malaysia said, Stana and Nathan do some of their best work during the darker episodes. I cannot wait to see this. I have been waiting for Bracken to make an apperance and Im going nuts waiting for this episode, which only airs the week after next. Oh well, hopefully we get sneak peeks early next week to tide us. And of course Burke is back!!!! Yes, love Beckett and her therapist scenes. I hope we get a good hug between our darlings, i mean Castle needs to comfort Beckett right?
Oh this is gonna be a tear jerker. Beckett crying and upset always is, but god I love it. Stana nails these scenes, every damn time, its incredible. And she is truly looking beautiful, that hair and face, wow and Nathan is looking great as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's really refreshing to reed some positive comments for a change! I've missed that in a couple last weeks :)
ReplyDeleteand of course, I agree 100% with all of you that Stana looks stunning in these pics! Can't wait for the episode, cause I'm sure, they, especially Stana, will give us outstanding performances. Again! They always do! :)
this episode is going to be great I love the suspense episode s not to much the comedy. More drama please. she looks better with her hair up.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for this episode it's looking so great. but hey on the 4th is my birthday so in the night or on 5th(I'm ffrom Germany) i can look this ep. Stana looks amazing wow. Can't wait
ReplyDelete:)
These pictures look great! The more spoilers we get for these episode, the more eager I am to watch it. I think it's going to be an episode with angst, action, drama and -I secretly hope- with a bit of romance. All in one! I just love the dark episodes. All of them, Stana, Nathan, Jon and Seamus are always great in those, especially Stana of course, who can bring such drama with her tears (made me feel with her in Probable Cause).
ReplyDeleteAnd it's great to see Gates is back! Can't wait!
It sounds good to me, looks good to me and it seems everything's gonna be fine without angst from fans...
ReplyDeleteI do love all these dark eps, to me, they do make this show one of the best.
And from the dark, comes the light and Valentyne's ep will bring us comedy before falling again in a dark double ep and that's gonna be great...
We love this show!!
has anyone noticed - on the murder board there is a riffle
ReplyDeleteKill shot anyone + her moms murderer
i have a feeling this episode is going to be a bit of kill shot, sucker punch, always, knockout - every case concerning johanna Becketts murder and Kates shooting - should be a great (and of course dark) thrilling ep to watch
Cant wait :D
